Engineering Team

Michael Maulfair - Technical Operations Manager Mike has over 27 years of experience in the design, service and installation of professional sound reinforcement systems. Mike, an Electronics Institute graduate, has gained a reputation for skill in analog and digital circuitry and solving complex system interconnection problems in a swift and elegant manner.

John Edwards - Systems Engineer John came to SAGE in 2001 with a technical background in communications including time served as a Communications Security/Radio Technician for the U.S Army, a Two-way Radio Technician for 2 years, and a Data Systems Installer for 6 months. Along with John's technical skills he brought with him customer service abilities that have given our service department a positive appearance to our customer base and has earned him the Customer Service Award for 2005. John has also previously won awards for “Rookie of the Year” and Professional Growth. He has recently joined our engineering staff in the office to utilize more of his skills in systems design and technical support for the rest of our operations team. John holds certificates from Rauland-Borg, MaxXess, Blonder Tongue, Phillips, and Leviton. John is currently working on his certification as an Electronic Systems Technician from NSCA.

Herb Ricords, MCSE - Network Engineer Herb has more than 8 years experience in the IT field. He has managed the design and delivery of a number of technical projects including custom hardware, software and network deployment. He has extensive Information Security training and has attended several Microsoft Solutions Framework design courses. Herb continues to provide both design and technical support for SAGE clients, while pursuing advanced technical education opportunities.

Dave Potter , MCSE - Network Engineer Dave came to SAGE as Network Engineer in 2001. Prior to joining our Team, Dave work for the Columbia School District , first as a Business Education Teacher and more recently as their Technology Coordinator. From this experience, Dave has been an instrumental part of our network designs, especially in the educational market. He is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, Cisco Certified Network Associate, Avaya Certified Associate and is also in receipt of numerous Rauland-Borg and Proxim certifications.

 

 

Project Management & Customer Service

Rick Geiner - Senior Project Manager Rick has over 13 years of experience as a technician and project manager. He has experience in voice, video and data systems. This experience involves multi-building installations as well as multiple large projects simultaneously. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University as well as factory authorized training from Bosch (Philips), Blonder Tongue, Rauland-Borg and Leviton.

Drew Hoffman - Customer Service Representative Drew has more than 10 years experience with developing custom programming for classroom media retrieval, audio/visual, and telephony and teleconferencing systems. His unique skill set aids customers in developing an intuitive custom interface to streamline system operations from the customer's position. Drew is well versed in custom programming of AMX, Crestron, Rauland, Avaya, Polycom and others. Drew's responsibilities include needs assessment, custom interface design, programming and customer training.

Adam Kirkessner - Project Engineer Adam has more than 13 years of experience as an electronics technician and 7 years managing prime and sub contract construction projects. His experience encompasses voice, video, and data systems. This experience includes single and multi-building installations, networking, systems integrations, and audio-visual presentation solutions. This includes front line supervision of field staff, project management, project engineering and quality control. Adam has received factory authorized training with AMX, Blonder-Tongue, Philips and Rauland. He has had additional audio courses with NSCA. He is also working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Lebanon Valley College . Through the United States Marine Corps Adam learned the importance of quality control and project timelines.

Dave Heffner - Project Manager/Journeyman Electrician Dave is one of SAGE's most experienced technicians, serving as project superintendent on the largest installations to date in his 8 years on the Team. Most recently, Dave has been promoted to the role of Project Manager where his experience in the field will be essential in the successful completion of many more projects.

Kurt Holtzer- Service Coordinator Kurt has been a service manager in the Biomed, and Technology fields for 28 years. Kurt has experience in personnel management, service maintenance agreements, medical and business equipment, customer relations, and safety. Kurt's career started as a member of the U.S. Navy Special Forces, and as a Biomed Technician, which has shaped him to be a hands-on manager and leader; and for going above and beyond for his customers. Kurt owned his own Biomed business, which has helped him to hone his leadership, and customer service skills.

Craig Brown - Systems Integration Specialist Craig joined SAGE in 2001 and began by leading our service team as Service Coordinator for 5 years. He comes to us with an extensive Technical and Customer Service background. He has over 20 years of experience in customer service management as well as other tech related fields. He has been very involved in keeping our company's reputation for high quality customer service as an integration systems provider since his arrival. His technical knowledge of our systems and his own technical skills have been essential ingredients in keeping our customers satisfied.

 

 

Sales & Design Team

Mark Lizambri - Systems Sales Engineer Mark exceeds the expectations of our healthcare and educational clients with his rare combination of diverse technical expertise and interpersonal communication skills. Mark is currently our healthcare market specialist and his 18+ years experience in systems integration qualifies him as an expert in most audio/video/communications technologies. Mark's formal education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering from Ohio Institute of Technology as well as certifications for Rauland-Borg, AVAYA, and other keys manufacturers' technical and enhanced professional services training programs.

Mark Showers, CTS - Systems Specialist Mark worked in professional studio and live sound mixing for more than 10 years prior to joining SAGE in 2001, specializing in system design and installation. His experience includes paging systems, intercom, pro sound, recording, video teleconference systems, video presentation systems and TV distribution technology. He is a Synergetic Audio Concepts (Syn-Aud-Con) graduate and holds certificates from the Electrovoice Pro Sound Seminar, BSS Sound Web Programming Seminar and the Blonder Tongue RF Distribution Seminar.

Charles Mowrer - System Specialist/Licensed Electrician Charlie has more than 8 years of experience in system design and installation. This experience includes paging systems, intercom, pro sound, security, access control, video presentation, TV distribution, telephony, networks and wireless communications technology.

John Imhof - Systems Specialist John brings a vast degree of technical experience to the team having been around live production for many years.  His experience includes five years live audio production and six years in theatre handling show communications, special effects, various control systems and multimedia.  John is also well-versed in telephony and has a background in construction as well. All this combined will provide an understanding of how to implement your system solutions in a most effective manner.

 

 

Executive Team

Daniel Rohrer - President Daniel has more than 20 years of experience in designing sound distribution and reinforcement, multimedia and communications systems as well as managing their installation. Daniel has built a reputation for integrity and dependability that many area clients as well as Architects, Engineers and construction management firms have come to depend upon. Daniel has been trained through Peavey MediaMatrix®, Synergetic Audio Concepts (Syn-Aud-Con), the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA), Avaya Communications (formerly Lucent Technologies) and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Wheaton College and a Masters in Educational Media from Temple University.

Jim Van Fossen - General Manager Jim has been in management of AV, Video, Systems and Technology Services for over 23 years. Jim has been involved in all areas of business management including personnel management, contracting, union negotiations, acquisitions and new business start-up. Jim started his career as a technician and his experience in AV, video, sound and computer programming has allowed him to be a hands-on manager leading by example. Jim's computer software experience and training has enabled the development of business operation efficiencies and process improvements. Jim has done work for many top government agencies and Fortune 500 companies gaining a great reputation for leading a team that exceeds customer expectations.

Jay Zellers - Controller Jay has over 35 years of experience in public and industry accounting. Prior to coming to SAGE he had done construction accounting for 10+ years during his career and was involved in business management including personnel management for over 20 years. Jay also brings years of experience in financial statement preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable and service contract accounting. He graduated from Elizabethtown College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting completing 33 credits in the accounting field. Jay is very active in the community and is a member of a local Church, Fair and Kiwanis group.
